GuildNet, a provider of Managed Long Term Care (MLTC), including home care and nursing home care under New York’s Medicaid program, gave notice to approximately 4,000 Medicaid recipients that they will no longer offer MLTC services in Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester Counties.
Medicaid recipients must choose another MLTC before May 18, 2017 to receive uninterrupted services.
If you are satisfied with the home care agency providing the in-home services to you or your loved one, speak with the agency in order to choose an alternate MLTC. The home care agency can provide you with the contact information for the MLTCs with which they contract.
This comes as no surprise. Other managed Medicaid providers have exited the marketplace due to the per capita Medicaid reimbursement rate which istoo low to sustain quality care to patients and too low to pay health care workers. Note also that per capita reimbursement was part of Trump’s original health care bill, the American Health Care Act (AHCA), which legislation was pulled before it could be voted on by the US House of Representatives.
What You Need to Do:
♦ Choose another MLTC by May 18, 2017 to ensure continuity of services.
♦ Contact your current home care agency for a list of MLTCs with which they contract.
