Jennifer Cona, Esq., managing partner of Cona Elder Law in Melville, announces that Marcus O’Toole-Gelo, Esq., a Mineola resident, has joined the firm as an associate attorney in the Trusts and Estates Department.

Concentrating his practice in estate planning, tax planning and business succession, Marcus advises high net worth individuals on how to protect their assets, minimize estate taxes and transfer wealth to the next generation using the most sophisticated techniques.  Marcus also handles probate and estate administration, trust administration, accountings and business succession planning for business owners and entrepreneurs.

“I’m excited to be working at such a prestigious, leading law firm in the industry, where I can make a difference in the fast growing area of elder law,” says Marcus.   “Using a comprehensive approach to helping clients, I examine the entire family situation and needs of the parents and children now and in the future so they achieve their goals.”

Marcus is a member of the NYS Bar Association – trusts and estates and tax law sections.  He is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Accountants and Attorney Networking Group (AANG) on Long Island.

“Marcus brings a wonderful combination of sophisticated experience, brain power and a can-do attitude while being very approachable, “ says Jennifer Cona.  “Clients find Marcus easy to talk to and they appreciate the way he breaks down complicated information.”

Some of Marcus’s goals for the firm include offering educational seminars that will clarify many of the elder law complexities so seniors and their families can protect their assets and plan for their long term health care needs.

Prior to joining Cona Elder Law, Marcus worked as an associate attorney at Pollio Law Group LLP, where he concentrated his practice in the areas of estate planning and estate administration for high net-worth clients.  He was also involved in real estate, commercial lending, banking and finance.  Marcus clerked in the Queens County Surrogate’s Court and Surrogate Nahman.
