It is Now More Important Than Ever to Plan Ahead. Effective October 1, 2020 there will be the imposition of a 30 month (2.5 year) look back for home care and all community based long term care services. Any transfers made during or after the look back period will result in a penalty. There are currently no penalties or transfers when applying for Medicaid community based services.
