What Does it Mean for Employers & Employees?

Cona Elder Law Partner Melissa Negrin-Wiener will serve as a panelist at this important SHRM-LI seminar covering the legal, financial and insurance components of the NYS Paid Family Leave  law set to go into effect in January 2018.  The law applies to all New York State businesses, regardless of size. 
The panel will address compliance, risk mitigation, financial impact and workforce solutions.  An open floor Q and A session will follow. Open to SHRM-LI members only.

Cona Elder Law and EAC Network invite local seniors to a Senior Tech of Long Island event on Thursday, July 27th, 2017 from 4:00- 5:00pm at our Cona Elder Law office in Melville. 

Bring your iPhone or iPad and learn how to perform functions like sending messages, video calling, and browsing the internet. This small class will offer individual and personalized attention, making learning fun and helping seniors overcome their fear of technology.

Cona Elder Law Selects Charities to Support for 2017

 Cona Elder Law hosted its first employee "Charity Pitch Day" on June 14, 2017. The Cona Elder Law team gathered together to present and choose two charities that the firm will support throughout 2017: Together We Riseand Honor Flight Long Island.

For the remainder of 2017, Cona Elder Law will be fundraising for these two charities through employee activities such as:

  • Casual for a Cause: Why is your Cona Elder Law attorney wearing jeans? Staff members can donate $5 a week to wear jeans to the office on Fridays.
  • Cooking for a Cause food sale and bake-off
  • Flapjack Fundraiser breakfast
