ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Jennifer B. Cona, elder law attorney, is a partner in the law firm of Cona Elder Law PLLC. As director of the firm’s Elder Law department, Ms. Cona practices exclusively in the field of Elder Law and Trusts and Estates, including representing elderly clients and their families in connection with Medicaid planning, preservation of assets, estate planning, estate litigation, probate and administration of estates, disability planning and guardianships. Ms. Cona also heads up the Health Care Facility Representation practice group.  Ms. Cona was recently named one of the “Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business” by Long Island Business News.

Joseph S. DeSena is a certified financial planner practitioner. A senior financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. in Melville, NY, Mr. DeSena holds an MBA in finance. Ronald E. Roel is president of Roel Resources, an editorial consulting firm that provides information services, workshops and conferences specializing in aging, retirement and real estate issues. The former editor of Newsday’s real estate and Act Two retirement sections, Mr. Roel is currently the editor of Act Two’s “Ask the Expert” column and co-creator of “Real Estate Next,” an educational conference.
