Institutional Medicaid benefits are benefits available to cover the cost of a skilled nursing facility. Every skilled nursing facility in New York State accepts Medicaid as payment.
In order to qualify for institutional Medicaid. An individual must be both financially and medically eligible. Once approved for institutional Medicaid, Medicaid will cover the complete cost of a nursing facility lest some portion of the Medicaid recipients income.
